About the BC Highland Games & Scottish Festival

The BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival is the biggest Highland games in BC, drawing competitors province wide, from Alberta, Western United States and Scotland. The BC Highland Games is also the longest running games in British Columbia. This year, we present the 130th edition which will be held on Saturday, June 23 at the Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam.

As a not-for-profit event, all funds raised support the running of the games and the competitors. The

Games normally attract 7000-8000 participants and attendees.

Rob Roy Sponsor $2,500

The Rob Roy Sponsor is the highest tier available. As the Rob Roy of all sponsors, you will be honoured with four seats to a VIP luncheon with the Chieftain of the Day, enjoy the opportunity to make a public remark during the opening ceremonies, give away product samples, display signage and posters, increase awareness with 15 PA announcements, 10 tickets to the Games, and place a full page ad in the program (a value of $500!). There is also the opportunity to be the only Main Stage Sponsor with this tier. Your company will be noticed!

Tartan Sponsor $1,500

Instantly recognized as Scottish, the tartan is one of the major “brands”. The Tartan Sponsor will have the opportunity to provide product samples for their company, placement of your own signage and posters paired with 10 PA Announcements, 6 tickets to the Games and a ½ page ad in the program valued at $300. Differentiate yourself from your competitors by associating your company as the BC Highland Games’ Tartan Sponsor.

Stone of Scone Sponsor $1,000

The Stone of Scone has been revered for centuries as a holy relic. Sponsors of this tier will have the opportunity to be seen and heard by the attendees with a ¼ page ad in the program, 5 PA announcements, 4 tickets to the Games and a ¼ page ad valued at $150. Put your company in the spotlight and associate yourself in a memorable way by becoming a Stone of Scone Sponsor.

Bagpipes Sponsor $500

Like the bagpipe itself, sponsors in this tier carry the tune around the BC Highland Games. Seize the promotional marketing opportunities of 5 PA announcements, 4 tickets to the Games, a 1/8 page ad in the program ($75 value) and name recognition on the event website. You’ll be in great company with our World Champions!

Thistle Sponsor $250

Legend has it that a sleeping party of Scots warriors were almost ambushed by an invading band of Vikings and were only saved when one of the attackers stepped on a wild thistle with his bare feet. His cries raised the alarm and the Scots defeated the Danes. Receive PA announcements, 2 tickets to the Games and name recognition on the BC Highland Games website as the Games’ Thistle Sponsor.

Sponsorship of specific events in the Games is also available. Event sponsors receive additional benefits along with the outlined opportunities.

Heavy Events

The Games is proud to host the BC Provincial Championship for Heavy Events. Each category has six classes to select from and whether you decide to sponsor a single class or the entire event is up to you! A single class can be sponsored for $250 (Thistle Sponsor) or the entire competition for $1500 (Tartan Sponsor). Imagine your company name highlighted. In addition to other benefits, get your picture taken with the athletes and present trophies at the ceremony. This is a great chance to get seen by spectators and competitors alike.

Highland Dancing

The City of Vancouver Championships will see approximately 200 top level dancers from world champions to the blooming little four year olds. Have your generosity fixed in time with a presentation of the trophies and a photo to commemorate the day. Sponsor one class for $250 (Thistle) or the whole event for $1,500 (Tartan Sponsor). A fun-filled joyous way to get involved with the heritage!

Featuring the six-time World Champion, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band! You will have EVERYONE’S attention as the Grade 1 Pipe Bands battle it out for first place - These bands play twice each and it is the pinnacle of our highly competitive event. Your PA announcements will be heard when the stands are jam packed.

This is followed immediately by the Pièce de résistance of any Highland Games - The Massed Bands! Your company will have the privilege of awarding the Grade 1 Pipe band prize in front of 8,000 happy fans.

Sponsorship is available for as little as $250 (Thistle Sponsor) for a professional piping or drumming event up to $2500 (Rob Roy Sponsorship) for a Grade 1 aggregate event.
